Explain my Procedure ICU is designed to bridge the information and communication gap that opened up on Intensive Care due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and provide an ongoing and developing resource beyond the pandemic. Our animations are designed to educate families of patients admitted to ICU and support an understanding of the range of treatments and decisions that are often needed. The library of animations increases year on year with input from the community of users in determining new topics. The animations have progressed from supporting families of patients whilst they are on ICU to supporting patients as they recover after ICU. The content is endorsed by the UK’s National Society – the Intensive Care Society. Animations are available in a number of languages: English, Bengali, Hindi, Turkish, Arabic and Welsh to broaden access and inclusivity.
